A two-mile chase down Tryon Road in southern Raleigh early Tuesday ended with a crash that injured two people, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Spokeswoman Phyllis Stephens said that a deputy tried to stop a vehicle on Tryon Road at Gorman Street around 1:30 a.m. The driver refused to stop, and deputies and Raleigh police officers followed the car along Tryon Road until it crashed and flipped onto its side near Par Drive.

Deputies said that two people in the car were injured, but did not release their condition or other details, such as what led to the chase.

Oh and this happened right in front of the neighborhood I live in....There's a up hill climb right before Par drive that IF you go fast enough, your front tire will go airborne....still, I wonder how I missed the siren since I was still up around then...

It used to be you can't outrun a Motorola....

I find it funny when people say "can't outrun a radio" and yet in all my life I've never seen anyone pulled over on the side of a road by a radio.

Now the criminal will sue the DOT because the roads were not safe

"Run from the cops- go ahead, they are trained to drive highspeed and have the cars and engines to do so. It just adds to the charges when they catch you...unless you wreck and get killed first of course. Silly criminals."

My car is faster than a cop car. I take it on the track in instructor lead events. I can outrun a cop, but I can't out run the radio.

The real problem with running is not what happens to the person fleeing, it's what happens to innocent bystanders and other people on the road.
