Police find vehicles stolen from Fort Bragg

A Fayetteville man was arrested Thursday on charges he stole at least three vehicles from Fort Bragg.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was arrested Thursday on charges he stole at least three vehicles from Fort Bragg.

Inspectors from the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles' License and Theft Bureau used a tracking device inside a Jeep to identify Zachary Rush, 24, of Brookshire Road, as their suspect. They found the 2009 Jeep Wrangler, along with a 2005 Dodge Power Wagon, a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle and three 2008 Polaris all-terrain vehicles and a generator at Rush's house.

He faces charges of felony possession of stolen vehicles, felony possession of stolen property and misdemeanor possession of altered vehicle identification numbers. 

Inspectors found three trailers and a Honda motorcycle with altered VINs on Rush's property as well. They estimated the total value of the stolen property at more than $100,000.

Rush was being held Friday in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond.
