Fayetteville, N.C. — A 25-year-old man was shot inside an apartment at Cambridge Arms in Fayetteville Monday afternoon, police said.

A man entered the apartment and opened fire on the victim, whose name was not released, shortly after 2:30 p.m., police said. The victim then ran out of the apartment and toward a wooded area behind the apartment complex, where he collapsed and died from his injuries.

Investigators were searching for a suspect and seeking information on a possible motive at the apartment building, off McPherson Church Road at 301 Barcelona Drive, Monday evening.
