Raleigh motorcyclist dies in wreck

print friendly

A Raleigh motorcyclist died shortly after midnight Sunday when his bike ran off a ramp from Capital Boulevard and crashed into a tree.

Police said that Jibrey Thomas, 33, lost control of his 2006 Honda bike while going 60 mph around a curve on the off ramp from southbound Capital Boulevard to Wade Avenue. The bike struck a tree off the left side of the ramp, tossing him off.

Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said his helmet wasn't secured and came off.

Police were conducting tests to see if alcohol was a factor.

I don't pay attention to motorcycle laws, and I can't believe your trying to justify burnouts, pursuing motorcycle laws, and 60mph on a curve... Your making jibrey look bad by not pulling over... Yes, he was a skilled biker in Raleigh, but what you're doing is just making everything worse. Lets remember Jibrey for what he contributed and not the moments of his departure.

That is not what happen. The Raleigh police officer that worked Glenwood waited to pursue Jibrey Thomas after he heard Thomas doing a burn out before leaving the parking lot of club Brooklyn Heights. Isn't it true that these blue and whites are not allowed to pursue a motorcycle wether speeding or not in the first place. Which the officer lied about doing. And I was told by a female cop on the seen that this was a fact. If anything the officer caused the crash. 60 is nothin on bike. Especially with a person of this much skill who knows a bike like the back of his hand. Something needs to be done about this corrupt officer. I wouldn't be surprised if he bumped the back of the bike. Since he was laying on the ground so far back from the back. Seems to me that if he hit anything at all he would be thrown forward not backward. The only thing that could cause this in my view is a bump from the rear which I have seen a lot of cops try to do in the past. In my opinion, when a bike is bumped

Lifting his entire family in prayer.

My nephew was a close friend of Jibrey and he died riding a bike owned by Jibrey at the time. His name was Jared Weaver and his family and friends called him "Boo". Boo came from a long line of motorcycle racers. All on the track. Not the street. Jibrey and Jared loved to ride, like we all do. To all of Jibrey and Jared's friends and riding buddies...take it to the track...PLEASE. My prayers are with Jibrey's family. I know their pain.

RIP Jibrey. You will truly be missed.
