Two separate shootings injured four people at a barbershop and a graduation party in Goldsboro within four hours this weekend.

Police said that an unidentified person opened fire during a graduation party at Party Central, 800 Corporate Drive, around 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Bullets struck Christah Tanjere Battle, 17, and Michael Deshaun Sawyer, 20, both of Goldsboro.

Sawyer underwent emergency surgery at Wayne Memorial Hospital, and his condition was stable Monday. Battle was treated and released from the hospital.

Around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Vanradius Vonyell Fields, 26, and Shawn Naurice Holmes, 27, both of Goldsboro, were shot at Headquarters Barbershop, 533 E. Ash St., police said. Wayne Memorial Hospital staff said Monday that the condition of both victims was stable.

Police have not commented on a motive or possible suspects. Neighbors told WNCT News that a fight broke out during a rap battle, and someone pulled out a gun.

Holmes was convicted of manslaughter in 2006 and released from prison in January 2011, according to state Division of Adult Correction records.

Anyone with information about either shooting is asked to call Goldsboro police at 919-580-4211 or Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve crimes.

If you know how to do a Google search, just search "guns stolen North Carolina" and "accidental shootings North Carolina." Or even more shocking substitute, United States of America for North Carolina. piene2

Did. Nothing worth reading.

We can be just like dodge City in the eighteen hundreds. Click to view my profile piene2

you really need to read books, dodge deadwood, tombstone had very restrictive gun laws, you were not allowed to walk around town carrying. once again as always, you are wrong.

I can guarantee you the guns were not registered. There is no such thing as a gun registration in North Carolina. Genius. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I'm sorry, I misspoke. I meant to say "permit". I can see this is near and dear to your heart as you had to turn the issue into a personal attack. I hope you can handle relationships better than you do anonymous postings :)

"Leave guns laying around to be stolen? You are blaming legal gun owners? Not the thieves? Give me some of those stats. farm"

I would prefer to ask the "legal" gun owners who leave their guns laying around to be stolen and so children can shoot themselves and their playmates as happened just a couple of weeks ago.

Well, you go talk to the law abiding citizens and I'll send the police to talk to the criminal and Holder who is being cited for contempt of congress. Leave it to a Lib to blame a law abiding citizen for "tempting" a criminal by having something they want and believe they have the right to take! Go do something about inner city crime. Use your energy wisely.
