Ousted Durham County District Attorney Tracey Cline wants the state to pay her legal expenses during her appeal of a judge's order in March that removed her from office.

Superior Court Judge Robert Hobgood said he found "clear, cogent and convincing" evidence during a four-day inquiry that Cline had "brought the office of the Durham County District Attorney and the entire Durham County justice system into disrepute" through her repeated public criticisms of Superior Court Judge Orlando Hudson.

Cline alleged in court filings that Hudson was biased against her and her office and asked to have him barred from handling criminal cases in Durham County.

In the lengthy motions, she said the judge has "the reprobate mind of a monarch," said his conduct involved "moral turpitude, dishonesty and corruption," that his actions "raped" crime victims and "kidnapped the rights of victims and their families" and that his only goal was "to demean the district attorney at all costs."

Two other judges found her complaints to be groundless.

Hobgood has asked the state Administrative Office of the Courts for guidance in how to handle Cline's request since her removal was a civil case and the state assists indigent defendants only in criminal cases.

The North Carolina State Bar also is seeking disciplinary action against Cline for her attacks on Hudson.

I also don't think she should be allowed to continue to practice law.

No she should not be able to practice law. She is the the one that messed up. I would not want her for a lawyer. She is too strong headed and no one can tell her what to do.

"RIGHT ON rachel!

WHAT? She is really disrespecting the people of NC. She put herself in the position she is in. She would not let go. Did she not save her money or did she blow it away not thinking she will need it for things like this. She needs to find another way and not use the people of NC or the state to do it.

Rachel, NOT Cline.......and I agree w/ rachel as well. She should get NO FINANCIAL assistance with her personal vendetta. She just needs to hang her head, cut her losses and vanish-maybe move to another state. I also don't think she should be allowed to continue to practice law.

Although I am tired reading about this woman, I automatically begin reading any news concerning her.

I believe that Tracy Cline would make a good private attorney, but she has to move on. it is impossible to buck the North System, its like running up a steep hill without water.

She has cost our NC taxpayers enough with her rants and strange behavior. We should not be saddled with paying for defending her. She needs to just "go away".

Maybe Cline was the one that was biased. Sometimes we cannot see ourselves as others see us.
