A Broughton High School student told police she was sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Raleigh Thursday.

The 18-year-old woman reported that she was raped between Landmark Drive and Westvill Court, near Lake Boone Trail, around 11:30 a.m., police said.

Investigators were at the scene for at least three hours collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.

Initially, she told investigators that she was raped on Park Drive in the Cameron Park neighborhood off Hillsborough Street around 2 p.m., police said.

SO WAS SHE OR WASNT SHE... TWO DIFFERENT STORIES, LOCATIONS AND TIMES.... WHAT'S GOING ON. THIS STORY SHOULD HAVE MORE DETAILS.

AS A RAPE SURVIVOR, YOU NEED TO GIVE MORE DETAILS TO MAKE YOUR STORY BELIEVABLE... I FEEL BAD IF THIS REALLY HAPPENED, BUT BEFORE YOU CALL THE COPS GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT SO PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE YOU.

"If she's 18, and school just got out, wouldn't that make her a HS graduate

It is much more difficult to know for sure these days. Some kids are younger and some older. Some start later than others. My neighbor is about to be 19 and just graduated. Yet, my daughter will be 17 when she graduates. Moving to different states will affect that also.

The original story did indicate Park Dr in Cameron Park, near Broughton, but the story was updated because she changed her story and timeline. Here's more: http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=8693856

Not necessarily. Maybe she's a rising senior. As for the people telling women we need to defend ourselves, I agree..we do, but we don't know the situation. We don't know if weapons were involved. You never know what you're going to do until you're put in that situation. She could have panicked and drawn a blank as to how to protect herself or maybe she felt she couldn't defend herself against the person.

I would have sworn earlier that it said Park Drive in Cameron Park.. I actually saw a WRAL van there around 5 pm on my way home from work yesterday. But now it seems the story reads differently.
