A Wake Forest man was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole after being convicted of killing his 14-month-old daughter in December 2010.

A jury found Jonathan Blake Perry, 25, guilty of first-degree murder and felony child abuse.

Police and paramedics responding to a 911 call on Dec. 8, 2010, found Perry alone with his daughter, Jadajai Wright, who had no pulse. The toddler was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, where she was pronounced dead.

Jadajai had swelling on the brain, extensive bleeding in her eyes and a bruised lung, authorities said.

Before he was sentenced, Perry spoke briefly to his girlfriend and her family, asking God "to give the Wright family strength" through difficult times.

It's not that the people on here are defending this man. innocent people do go to jail and prison sometime, maybe this person knows more about the accident than we do. just think if greg taylor had been put to death they would have killed an innocent man. judge and jury do make mistakes too. why does it even matter what people think anyway our god has compassion and he is a forgiving god. only god can be his judge in the end. people on here need to pray for the family that lost the child and the man that has been accused and his family. just saying

Piene, so why are you defending this animal, anyway?

Nope, no god here, but I am a mom. I am a mom who will be celebrating my firstborn's birthday at his grave Saturday. When I hear about someone murdering something so precious as a child, it makes my blood boil.

"Piene, about the rabid baboons, yes as a matter of fact I would. I would enjoy it with popcorn. RNmomX4"

I do not find your comment surprising at all. Perhaps you have some god that thinks as you do? Actually I think your mindset is a lot like that of Jonathan Perry.

Piene, about the rabid baboons, yes as a matter of fact I would. I would enjoy it with popcorn.
