Woman stabbed at T-ball game in Meadow; boyfriend arrested

Benson, N.C. — A woman was stabbed several times in the neck Tuesday evening during a T-ball game at Meadow Elementary School outside of Benson, according to the Johnston County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to WakeMed. Her boyfriend, Kendall Basker, 23, was arrested at the scene, authorities said. The couple has three children together.

Witnesses tell WRAL News that parents rushed the children playing T-ball to safety when the assault started. No children were hurt.

Several other parents wrestled Basker to the ground and held him until authorities arrived.

Witnesses said he was armed with what appeared to be an ordinary kitchen knife.

Basker has previous convictions for assault on a female and violating a protective order, according to state Division of Adult Correction records. He is currently listed as a probation absconder on the division's website.

Winterlily, this "girl" may have a job, but that doesn't mean she's not taking welfare too. May I remind you this "girl" also made 3 kids with a lowlife. At this point I don't really care what happens to this "girl". I'm much more concerned with a WOMAN like Kathy Taft who did nothing wrong, did not put herself in a stupid, dangerous, self-loathing position, did not spread her legs over and over and over for a criminal, and is now dead anyway. Ms. Taft was a victim. The "girl" is what we call a VOLUNTEER. Oh, and don't come crying about her children. I care about them as much as she did when she chose a life with a violent criminal.

AT flattop: How is it that you know the girl is on welfare? Really? This girl happens to have a job that she has held down for several years. So, maybe you should keep your ignorant comments to yourself and remember this girl is fighting for her LIFE; welfare or no welfare. Apparently, that doesn't mean much to you; but to her 3 children it means EVERYTHING.

I can tell you though, being on UNC campus a lot the majority Liberal students commonly & simply think The Right are mainly brainwashed religious/borderline racist nut jobs who won't accept them because they aren't Christians and might date somebody of a different race. As stupid as that sounds today, I've heard many students say that..... Libertarianism is where liberals end up when they figure out the government makes it worse and where conservatives go when they realize how dumb the drug war is.
