Fayetteville, N.C. — A Fayetteville man was killed Tuesday when he lost control of his moped and crashed on Bingham Drive, police said.
No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
Police said Harold Underwood, 53, was heading south on Bingham Drive around 5:45 p.m. when part of his moped struck the curb, causing him to lose control. Underwood was ejected from the moped and struck a street sign, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Underwood was wearing a helmet and was traveling about 25 to 35 mph when he crashed, police said.
