Durham ALE chase ends in wreck, brief power outage

Durham, N.C. — A man was injured in Durham Thursday night after he fled from Alcohol Law Enforcement agents and lead them on a chase down North Miami Boulevard, police said.

The chase ended when the man crashed into an electrical pole near the intersection with Robinhood Road. Damage to the pole knocked out power to several nearby homes for a short time, police said.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Duke University Hospital after being cut out of his Chrevolet Tahoe by rescuers. There was no word on his condition early Friday.

North Miami Boulevard was closed between Guthrie Avenue and Robinhood Road while authorities were at the scene.

No other information, including what prompted the chase, was released.

thank goodness it was only a telephone pole hit. wonder why they don't want to realease info on this as to who it was they were chasing?

Give the ALE boys a break. They never get to have any fun. All they do is harass bartenders. Once every few years or so they get to actually draw their guns and have a chase. Even Barney got to take his bullet out of his shirt pocket every now and then.
