Durham, N.C. — A woman was killed and another woman injured early Sunday in a hit-and-run wreck at the intersection of Lawson and Alston avenues in Durham, police said.
Driver Takieya Sessoms and her passenger, Angela Gray, both in their 20s, were taken to Duke University Hospital, where Gray died Sunday afternoon.
Sessoms was treated and released for a broken hand.
Police found the alleged driver, Miguel Cruz-Castillo, 23, a few blocks away a short time after the wreck. He was charged with driving while impaired, inflicting serious injury or death and felony hit-and-run. He posted a $25,000 bond and was released from the Durham County jail later Sunday.
