print friendly

Police in Hillsborough are trying to find a man who robbed an 81-year-old Walmart employee of $15 as she was leaving work Saturday night.

The woman was walking to her car in the store's parking lot, at 501 Hampton Pointe Blvd., police said Wednesday, when a man struck her in the back of the head, pushed her to the ground and stole her purse, which contained the cash.

She was taken to Durham Regional Hospital, where she was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said the robber was a white man with a medium build who was between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and weighed approximately 175 pounds. He was wearing a green sweatshirt, black shorts and black sneakers and was driving a dark-colored, small pickup truck, possibly a Chevy S-10.

Anyone with information that could help investigators can call the Hillsborough Police Department at 919-732-9381, extension 37.

how low can people sink. Hoping the lady recovers fully.

I am the daughter of the victim. I would like to thank everyone for your prayers and concerns about my mother. She has sustained neck and shoulder fractures. I just wanted to let you know she works because she wants to not because of financial need. It was very kind of you to offer to donate money to her. I will keep you posted on her condition and if they arrest someone. Thank you from her and her family. God bless you!!!!!

I wish I could have been there we could have had court, sentencing and punishment all within about 15 minutes.

I would just like to have 5 minutes alone with him in a small room.............

Mr, If you're reading this, I hope you hold your head real high for you mamma & grandma on Mother's Day. They'd be real proud of you! Shame on you for hitting that lady just for a few bucks!
