A store clerk in Durham shot a customer in the leg Monday evening, police said.

The clerk and the customer got into an argument around 6:40 p.m. at University Market, at 1108 W. Chapel Hill St., police said.

At some point, the clerk pulled out a handgun from behind the counter and shot the victim once in the leg, police said.

The victim was taken to Duke University Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they have made an arrest in the case, but didn't release more details.
