Cary police took into a custody a man who they say stabbed a woman and then barricaded himself in an apartment Sunday morning.

Police said the woman was stabbed during a domestic assault, and someone reported that the man was holding her hostage inside an apartment at 105 Ribbon Lane around 5:45 a.m.

The man let out the woman's children and her sister-in-law, who were unharmed, and then her later, police said. She was taken to Wakemed.

Police took the man into custody after about three hours. They said he had self-inflicted injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

"Our first concern is always the safety of those involved. Now that everyone is out safely, we can focus on the investigation," Maj. Tony Godwin said, adding that charges are pending.

More details, including the names of those involved, have not been released.

Cary is one of the most violent towns in all of NC. The citizens need to look at themselves and do better than what they do. The time is over for deflecting the issue. Deal with it directly. Many murderers, thieves and perverts have Cary address. Far more than is publicized.

Domestic violence is everywhere, just seemed to be less focused on in the image altered Cary. Bronco, we know why the Realtors tell clients to not move to Durham, because their clients are probably not what they believe is the majority in Durham. The reason for the biased is ignored, but it's the elephant in the room we all know and live daily.

ROFL... I agree YankeeAirPirate AND Bronco..that is just too funny.... and so so so true..

Irregardless, I was being sarcastic. Please reread the sentence!!

I have noticed that CARY is experiencing more crime that usual. I wonder will the Real Estate folks tell newcomers not to move to CAry as some of them do when talking about DURHAM..on second thought...probably not.
