A Silver Alert issued for a missing Durham woman was canceled Thursday morning around 5 a.m.

Bettina Vetina Henderson, 55, was found safe, authorities said. The alert was issued by the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Developed in 2007, the Silver Alert system quickly notifies the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

For goodness sake, PLEASE take her address off and just state a neighborhood vacinity. Not only does this make her home more prone to thieves while she is gone but now we know where a cognitively impaired woman lives for future reference. I am appalled.

Yeah, I'm glad they put the "C" on her apt. number so I didn't accidentally rob B by mistake.

I agree srobertson, especially since she's NOT home. Way to tip of the crooks, WRAL.

I understand it's a good idea to know the last known area she was seen in but to give her EXACT ADRESS right down to the apt.# seems like a bad idea.
