A Halifax man faces accusations that he inappropriately touched a 13-year-old, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Halifax County detectives said they arrested Clifton Ray Nethery II, 52, on Monday after receiving a report about a possible sex crime a day earlier.

Nethery was charged with second-degree sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a child. He was given a $125,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court May 23.

Investigators said that Nethery knew the teen before the alleged sexual abuse, but they declined to release more details in order to protect the teen's identity.

Why? You thinking about asking him out??? davidk_at_unc"

Is there a titillation factor?

Why? You thinking about asking him out???

@bristowbs- How does knowing the sex of the victim get you to better know the perp???

Unfortunately he has the right to live here in our society after he is released if he and he will get jail or prison time. You know according to RBC Ministries over 50% of ministers and priests have engaged in sexual activity with minors. No-one is exempt from doing something stupid but the price they pay is much higher than the crime or senseless act they committed.

Your words: Grammarthis, why not reveal the sex of the victim so that we may better know the abuser? Did they hide the fact that Sandusky abused boys? The news media needs to reveal all the facts. It does not identify the victim. bristowbs April 24, 2012 10:16 a.m.

Does it really matter? The victim is a child, and the child no matter what gender will most likely struggle with this for the rest of their life. Pedophile is a Pedophile, a predator that preys on defenseless children, you don't need to know the gender for a description of this offender we can plainly see the mug shot.
