Two arrested after witnesses report kidnapping in Raleigh
Two men are in custody after witnesses reported a possible kidnapping at a Raleigh gas station Sunday morning, police said.

A witness reported seeing a woman trying to get out of a grey 2003 Ford Windstar minivan at a BP gas station, at 3616 Poole Road, around 7 a.m. Two men stopped her and forced her to stay in the van, the witness told police.
Officers later spotted the van on Holston Lane, and the driver led police on a 1.6-mile chase. The van struck another vehicle at the intersection of Poole and Sunnybrook roads, but didn't stop.
No one was injured in the crash.
The driver, Isiah A. Owens, stopped a short time later, police said, and he and his passenger were taken into custody.
At that time, the woman was no longer in the van, police said. Investigators tracked her down, and she told them she had not been kidnapped. She was unharmed.
Owens, 23, was charged with hit-and-run, speeding to elude police and other driving-related offenses.
The passenger, 24-year-old Shawn Jones, was served with outstanding warrants on parole violations. He was placed on probation in February 2011 after being convicted of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to state Division of Adult Correction records.
Owens was on probation for one of four previous drug-related convictions and has served about seven months in jail, records show.
