Cary police said three armed men robbed a store owner in a strip mall Monday morning.

Three men, including one carrying a handgun, approached the owner of the HP Business Center, 1401 C Southeast Maynard Road, around 8:45 a.m., police said. The men took the store owner's briefcase and drove away in a blue or grey Dodge Charger.

The men wore ski masks and yellow vests similar to those used by road workers, police said.

No arrests have been made.

"Surprised more gun crimes are not occurring in Cary (as well as Chapel Hill) since they have local zoning laws that makes most of Cary, NC a "Gun Free Zone." "

Really? Care to share that laws they might be?

every day now in Wake.

Nothing random about this one, ya think? Sounds like these guys knew exactly what they were after.

Surprised more gun crimes are not occurring in Cary (as well as Chapel Hill) since they have local zoning laws that makes most of Cary, NC a "Gun Free Zone." Glock23 April 16, 2012 12:50 p.m

You can carry a gun in Cary the same places you can carry elswhere in NC. The places that are prohibited to carry in Cary are the same places prohibited elsewhere in NC (schools, government buildings, private businesses WITH POSTED SIGNS, ect.) The only real difference is that Cary does have an ordinace prohibiting carrying an exposed gun on public streets and sidewalks; other than that Cary is no more a "Gun Free Zone" than the rest of the state.

The most tiresome phrase since "under the bus". Not to mention it's really lame. No one in Cary that I've heard has ever purported that Cary is crime free. Keep drinking the Hater-ade. Stop complaining will ya

No kidding, the Cary-hating is getting really old. Maybe the children will one day grow up.
