Police arrested a state probation officer in southwest Durham early Thursday on drug trafficking charges.

Todd Tronzo, 35, is charged with four counts of trafficking Schedule 1 drugs, two counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver Schedule 1 drugs, two counts of maintaining a vehicle for the sale or possession of controlled substances and one count each of trafficking by transportation, trafficking by possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the Vance County jail under a $1 million bond.

Police said the arrest, which occurred on Tower Boulevard, was part of an ongoing investigation.

Tronzo has been a probation officer with the Division of Community Correction since February 2007, said Pamela Walker, spokeswoman for the state Department of Public Safety. He is currently on unapproved leave, she said.

Schedule I drugs include those that are the most dangerous and have a high risk of addiction or dependency and no legitimate medical use. Drugs included under this heading include LSD, ecstasy, heroin and mescaline.

Now this is just about as dumb a thing to do except for those trying to make this a democrat or republican issue. It's a person issue on some people in charge of criminals who seem to become criminals themselves.

what kind of drugs are schedule 1?

"eoglame" or whatever - the official is dealing drugs and you want to roust out folks receiving food stamp assistance? Vote republican much?

Is there anyone in government positions that can be trusted to do their job,I am starting to really wonder from the top down we keep seeing corruption and graft at every level,it's no wonder people are so fed up with tax dollars and benefits going to these people, remember many more get away with this type activity than are caught.

Hahaha, who could have better contacts?
