aye yai yai, obx, c'mon. you know the answer to this one.

amendment one is not an up or down vote on same-sex marriage. it asks, are you FOR or AGAINST changing the state constitution to say that the ONLY legally recognized domestic partnership will be a MARRIAGE between one man and one woman.

so civil unions? gone. domestic partnerships? dissolved. families across the state will be torn apart if this amendment passes. straight and gay alike. so yes, gay marriage is illegal and no, it won't become legal by defeating this amendment. but rights WILL be denied if it passes, don't be fooled.

same-sex marriage is illegal in nc and it will stay that way even if the amendment fails...so there won't be an increase at all. once again, i must say, EVEN if defeating this amendment cost the state a ton of money (which it won't, because NOTHING will change if it's defeated), saying that money is more important than citizens rights is appalling.

Curious then what rights would passing the amendment would we be denying citizens? If it actually denied rights to people I would not be voting for it.

actually, if this amendment is defeated, nothing will change.

Increase the amount of available participants and marriages for insurance and citizenship will no doubtably increase as well. That will cost taxpayers, and those of us responsible enough to have insurance, money.

Well being of everyone is already available. Cash will be lost by tax paying citizens with is not acceptable. - obx

i'm sorry -- what?! please explain this to me.
