A Raleigh man who was the subject of a Silver Alert in January has been found dead in a wooded area in southeast Raleigh.

A police spokesman said Wednesday that human remains found April 3 in a wooded area off Sunnybrook Road were determined to be those of Roman Green Jr., 64.

Green was last seen Jan. 12 at his home on Pender Street in Raleigh, approximately 3 miles from where his body was found. Authorities issued the Silver Alert – a means for quickly notifying the public when a person with a cognitive impairment goes missing – on Jan. 23.

A preliminary investigation does not indicate foul play, police said.

if he went missing on the 12th, why was the alert put out of the 23rd?

I worry this will happen to my father. He lives in assisted living center and it's not a locked facility. We are on that border line of whether to move him to a nursing home or not. Quality of life goes down so drastically there and yet he would be safe. He just has too much time spent thinking clearly to make it an easy decision right now. Prayers to the family.

Prayers for his Family

no need jmf, i'm good but thanks.

RIP to the guy and peace to the family.
