Fayetteville officer unhurt after car rammed in chase

print friendly

A Fayetteville police officer was uninjured when his patrol car was rammed during a chase Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Officers were trying to stop a Ford pickup for speeding shortly after 1:30 p.m., and the truck driver refused to pull over, police said. The truck ran into a police cruiser on the on-ramp of the All-American Freeway at Sante Fe Drive and continued driving.

The driver jumped from the truck after pulling into a cul-de-sac on Plateau Court, and officers arrested him after a brief chase on foot, police said.

The identities of the driver and the officer who was hit haven't been released.

DonsWife12 Just for your clarification it was not an accident! It was an assault with a deadly weapon and a crash! And this is real life not a movie with people wearing shoulder pads and protective gear! And since WRAL will not let me tell you what my real opinion is I will just stop here!!

Poor Don.....
