Raleigh police on Sunday confirmed that they have made two arrests in connection with a shooting that wounded a 15-year-old Raleigh boy March 26.

The shooting happened in the front yard of a home at 125 Bertie Drive during a house party. Investigators say the boy was out in the yard shortly after 1 a.m. when someone in a dark red Cadillac drove by and opened fire.

The injured teen, whom police identified as David Lee Byrd, was shot in the stomach and taken to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.

Anthony Leon Evans, 21, and Justin Carlton Jones, 16, have been arrested in the case and were being held Monday in the Wake County jail. Evans is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and felony conspiracy, while Jones is charged with felony possession a stolen firearm.

this story amazes me and so do all of yalls comments Clearly if they wanted to MURDER him they would have. they obviously didn't so they don't need to be charged for murder . . i clearly think its stupid for yall to say they should be charged with that. but also , why was a 15 year old at a party at 1 am ? ..... smh unbelievable .

This is why they get away with everything. WHERE ARE THE PARENTS??????????????????? The 16 year old parents should be held accountable too.

Let me guess, these are the same people who you may have seen weeks/months ago walking thru their streets doing those candle light services "calling for peace" because this had already happened to a freind of theirs....I also like those here ask where are the parents???...let me guess across town at another candle light street walk...wth these ppl dont need to go thru our court systems, they just need a trip out behind the shed. daydreamnn April 9, 2012 11:42 a.m.

Seems like to me, this should be attempted murder! Slap them on the wrist and they will be out and do it again!!!
