A 45-year-old Raleigh woman crashed into the porch of a house on Wake Forest Road Thursday night after losing control of her car and crossing five lanes of traffic, authorities said.

Jacqueline Vega told Raleigh police her brakes weren't working well when she lost control of her car. Vega swiped a phone pole and tree before hitting the porch of a triplex at 2034 Wake Forest Rd.

No one was injured in the incident. Vega was charged with a safe movement violation.

No people were displaced from the triplex because of the damage to the porch, but a City of Raleigh building inspector was scheduled to visit the property Friday to inspect the damage.

thanks squirreling dervish.... i was driving down wake forest rd in my head, trying to picture where this was located...i know eastgate s/c is 4025, monecito is 3939, was trying to go from there... and thanks to you, now i can picture where it is.

I love how everyone jumps on a bandwagon that the brakes were malfunctioning long before she drove the car down Wake Forest Rd - who knows, they could have messed up on her way home right then or perhaps they stuck and she was trying to free them while losing control? Just think about that, because this happened to me a few years ago, only I was quite fortunate in that I was only 1 mile from my home and made it there safely.

Stopping is key to driving folks. If you breaks aren't working good. GET THEM FIXED or park it. Good thing there wasn't kids playing on the porch. So, who's insurance covers damage to the porch?

is actually the triplex...LOL. Ignore the map WRAL has. The accident is close to SNoopy's, not Eastgate.

Wow, there are some absolutely horrible drivers in this area. It's pretty scary considering you're not even safe in your own home from half of these drivers.
