Apex bank robber arrives on bike, flees in stolen car

Apex, N.C. — Police were searching Thursday for a man who robbed an Apex bank and fled in a car he stole from a bank employee.

A man brandishing a handgun robbed the BB&T bank at 1130 Beaver Creek Commons Drive shortly before 10 a.m., police said. No injuries were reported.

Police said the robber rode a bicycle to the bank but grabbed a bank employee's keys and fled in the person's car.

Officers found the car abandoned behind the movie theater at the nearby Beaver Creek Commons shopping center, police said.

The robber was described as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black shirt or pullover, jeans and a black ski mask.

The FBI said Friday that the robber appeared to have tactical training.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Apex Police Department at 919-362-8661.

Seriously?? No this isn't Dodge City, but it's not Iraq either! We have laws and guns for a reason, why don't you just open your home and allow people to just come in and get what they want? What a moronic statement!

More guns equals more dead citizens.........REALLY.....What if someone on the 3 planes back in 2001 had had guns......how many lives might have been saved.....the only ones that use guns for crime are the criminals and if you really want to kill someone do you really think someone might say "If I just had a gun I could do it but since I don't Oh well". You live in a dream world. When Austraila banned guns the crime went up almost 200 percent. Yeah let's not have guns.....Tell you what wehn you are being attacked stop by my house if you have time and I'll protect you.
