Edwards attorneys want witnesses to review testimony

Over the course of a 34-month investigation into more than $1 million in payments from political supporters that prosecutors allege were used to cover up Edwards' pregnant mistress Rielle Hunter during his 2008 bid for the White House, 27 witnesses testified before the grand jury.  

Edwards' trial is scheduled to begin Jan. 30, but attorneys had previously requested a two-month delay because of an undisclosed medical condition. It's unclear whether a judge will grant that delay.

Edwards has pleaded not guilty to six felony and misdemeanor charges.
