Fire damages home in southwest Raleigh

A fire swept through a house in southwest Raleigh early Monday morning, authorities said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A fire swept through a house in southwest Raleigh early Monday morning, authorities said. 

The fire, started which just before 6 a.m. at a home on 5125 Huntingdon Dr. near Powell Drive Park, did extensive damage and collapsed part of the second floor onto the ground floor.

Crews worked for more than an hour to put out the flames.  

No one was in the home at the time, authorities said. 

One Raleigh firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor burns. No one else was injured. 

The cause of the fire hasn't yet been determined.  

No other information was released.
