Police: Drunken driver hits CAT bus in Raleigh

Six people were injured when an allegedly drunken driver collided with a CAT bus in Raleigh on Tuesday night, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Six people were injured when an allegedly drunken driver collided with a CAT bus in Raleigh on Tuesday night, police said.

The wreck happened just after 7 p.m. in front of WakeMed Hospital near the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Sunnybrook Road.

Police said driver Michael Rudolph, 49, said he didn’t see the bus, which was stopped to allow passengers to exit.

Rudolph is charged with driving while impaired.

The six people who were injured are expected to be OK.
