Two killed in Halifax County hit-and-run
A Halifax County man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in a hit-and-run Monday evening that left two people dead.
Posted — UpdatedLITTLETON, N.C. — A Halifax County man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder in a hit-and-run Monday evening that left two people dead.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Luke Henry Harvey, 45, was driving south on State Road 1357, near Littleton, around 10:55 p.m. when he hit Calvin Harris, 57, of Littleton, and Joycelyn Lynch, 37.
They had been walking along the road and were found in a ditch, authorities said.
Harvey also faces one count each of felony hit-and-run, driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license. He was being held Tuesday in the Halifax County jail.
