A Halifax County man once charged with murder in a 2008 shooting death faces new charges in connection with a shooting at a party early Sunday.

Lt. George Evans said that Daquan Sherodd Pittman, 21, is accused of opening fire at a party outside Scotland Neck around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Bullets struck two people.

Both victims were taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Evans said. One has been released, while the other was in fair condition Monday.

Pittman was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was given an $82,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Dec. 7.

Pittman was once charged with murder in the June 7, 2008, death of 19-year-old Terrance Lamon Tillery, who was shot at a house on N.C. Highway 903 outside Scotland Neck. A second man was also injured in the shooting.

Pittman was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and assault inflicting serious bodily injury, according to state Department of Correction records. He was put on probation and later served seven months in jail for a probation violation.

With all due respect, do you think shouting will get your message across any better? If you resubmit it without the shouting, I'll read it.

Yep the bond is too low. Wonder how many people he'll have to kill before they actually do something?
