Mebane police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery on Monday.

John Ronald Elixson, 40, of 2417 U.S. Highway 70 Lot 34 in Mebane, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was placed in the Alamance County jail under a $250,000 secured bond.

Police said that a man entered Fidelity Bank, 1296 S. Fifth St., around 11 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man left through the front door. He was last seen running through the parking lot toward a nearby Subway restaurant.

No one was injured in the robbery, police said.

Police said they were continuing to investigate the case. Anyone with information about the bank robbery is asked to call Mebane police at 919-563-9031.

Don't rob banks in the area in which you live.

Good pictures. Someone knows this man. Of course everyone is not or have computer access.

Come on WRAL.... the guy was CHARGED yesterday!! Talk about ignoring a story...

Per Times News: John Ronald Elixson, 40, of Mebane was charged on Tuesday and is being held in Alamance County jail under a $250,000 secured bond.

Dont look like he got much money, he was leaving with just one hand in his small pocket and the other hand empty... I doubt he's from Mebane. It is too small and everyone would recognize him. Probably passing through, traveling the interstate, and long gone by now.
