Camp Pendleton, Calif. — A Marine from Asheville was killed Thursday in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Cpl. Michael J. Dutcher, 22, died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, officials said.
Dutcher was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
