Durham authorities were investigating a possible illegal daycare on Oakmont Avenue Tuesday afternoon, a police spokeswoman said. Crime scene tape surrounded the home, at 114 Oakmont Ave., but no charges have been filed. Nine preschool-age children were in the home, but were not harmed, police said.
