RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State University students are trying to raise $50,000 for earthquake victims with the “Howl for Haiti” campaign.

Students gathered on campus on Wednesday to hold a vigil for the victims of the quake. Damson Ceneus, of Raleigh, spoke during the event about losing a dozen family members in the quake.

Ceneus said he moved to the U.S. from Haiti more than 10 years ago. He urged people to give money to help the victims.

Ceneus said he plans to fly to Haiti as soon as possible to see the devastation first hand.
