The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

Wilson County Schools Assistant Superintendent Ben Williams said the fire was first reported around 11:30 a.m. No one was hurt and only one bus was under repair inside at the time.

He said they are now working on next steps.

“Tomorrow morning we’ll have a meeting here,” Williams said. “We’ve got some spaces set up for office staff and administrative to be working out of tomorrow and then we’ll meet with our mechanics and we’re working to identify some spaces for our mechanics to be and that’s really kind of our next phase to identify some spots where we can have our mechanics working out of.”

In a post on Facebook, officials with Wilson County schools assured families that bus routes were not affected by the fire and schools will run as normal on Monday.
