A tanker crash on Interstate 42 (US 70) near Clayton claimed a man's life in Johnston County on Monday.
The fatal crash closed all eastbound lanes of I-42 just east of Ranch Road after the truck overturned.

Robert Lee Williams of Selma died in the crash. He was 55.
The State Highway Patrol said Williams was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The truck was owned by Bailey Feed Mill of Selma and was carrying animal waste.
Responding teams believe driver inattention and oversteering contributed to the crash. No charges will be filed.
The road will be closed until approximately 6:30 p.m. North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Clayton firefighters and Johnston County EMS all responded.
