Rocky Mount, N.C. — The 2008 unsolved slaying of a Rocky Mount woman remains a void in the life of her family and friends and in the files of the local police who continue to look for clues and tips.
Carolyn Ransome, 55, was strangled inside her home on Gregg Court on Jan. 1, 2008.
"It shocked me when it came down. It really shocked me," said her neighbor Isaac Cobb. He said nothing seemed to be amiss in their quiet neighborhood that day.
"We never have any commotion out here," he said.
Ransome was the mother of two grown children, and was an active member of the Light of Peace Missionary Baptist Church. "Everybody liked her," Cobb said.
Three years later, her friends are still waiting for justice.
Anyone with information about Ransome's death should call 1-866-43-WANTED or submit a tip at NCWanted.com.
