Suspected Cary burglar was dressed as service worker

Investigators are looking for Anwar Antuan Overby, 27, of Griffith Place in Durham, in connection with a June 27 break-in at a home on Park Crest Drive.

Cary 911 received three calls about the break-in that afternoon, including one from the homeowner, who said his neighbor told him that she saw a man with a clipboard looking into the garage and then push open a door to the house.

The homeowner was not at home at the time, and the neighbor was calling to see if anyone was supposed to be at the house, according to the call.

"He was wearing a white dress shirt and pants," the neighbor said in a second 911 call. "He had a clipboard when he went into their house, like he was a worker or somebody."

The neighbor told the 911 operator that the suspect chased her when he saw her trying to call police and threw her to the ground and took her cellphone.

Police say that Overby was last seen driving a silver 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier with North Carolina license plate number RZW-1508.

He is wanted on charges of felony breaking and entering, common-law robbery and felony larceny. He is also wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants in Durham County.
