RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police released a 911 recording Monday in the homicide investigation of a woman found dead inside her home over the weekend.

Friends made the call Saturday morning after finding the body of Alison Ballan Jurich, 34, inside a house at 4601 Rockwood Drive.

The unidentified male caller said he and his girlfriend were checking up on Jurich, whom they had not heard from in three or four days, which was unusual.

When no one answered the door, they peeked their heads inside the door and saw a body lying in the hallway with a blanket over it.

"All I saw was a foot and blood on the wall, and there's a body under a blanket," the caller said.

Raleigh police on Sunday arrested Robert John Daidone, 22, of 204 Great Ridge Court in Morrisville, and charged him with murder.

Investigators have said that the crime wasn't random, but they have not said how they connected Daidone to it. They would not say how the two might have known each other or how Jurich might have died.

Jurich was the mother of 13-year-old twin boys, who were with their grandparents at the time. Jurich's father, said she was planning to move next month from the home, which she rented with several other people.

In December 2009, Daidone was the subject of a Silver Alert, a statewide system that quickly notifies the public about missing adults who suffer from cognitive impairments.

Two weeks after the alert was issued, Daidone was arrested on first-degree burglary, felony breaking and entering and larceny charges for allegedly stealing from two Cary homes on New Year's Day 2010.

According to state Department of Correction records, he has previous convictions for drug possession and credit card fraud in Wake County.

Daidone was in the Wake County jail Monday, where he was being held without bond.
