From Pat in Raleigh

Back in the days when NC State had its May Commencement Exercises in Carter Finley Stadium, we would be in the fieldhouse on Friday afternoon, training the marshals and getting all of our signals straight and seating set up, etc. Ron Butler was the Assoc. Vice-Chancellor at that time in charge of the great event, and I can remember he'd be on the phone with Greg, making SURE that the next morning we were safe to proceed with the outdoor plan.

It was a special, special time and was so impressive. If storms seemed to be on the way anytime between 7 am and 10:30, we'd have to change up the plan for Reynolds Coliseum. All of this preceded the RBC Center, of course.

Greg was THE MAN for setting the final plans!!! We'd never proceed without his word to "GO"!! Very critical for us at NC State University!!!!
