Colt Brake, 16, crushed his C4 vertebra and fractured his C5 vertebra, injuring his spinal cord, during a football game in October against Parrott Academy. He had no feeling from his neck down immediately after the injury, but regained some feeling in his hands a few days later.

He was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville before being transferred to a spinal cord injury rehabilitation program at Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

On Wednesday, he'll return home.

This is a great, warm and fuzzy story. Just not enough of it. Glad Colt is well enough to return home.

Great job by the friends and family of Colt. Colt 55 all the way! Praying for your continued recovery.

Welcome home Colt!

PTL!! This was a terrible accident but it is wonderful that people have upfitted his home to accomodate his needs.

I personally know the difficulties of trying to use a wheel chair in a non-accessible homes. Great news!

That's tough.
