Raleigh churches share space every Sunday
Each Sunday, a retail building on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh plays host to the services of three different churches.
Posted — UpdatedEvergreen Community Church holds the early service in the space at Glenwood Avenue and Millbrook Road. An hour later, River Oaks Community Church has its services, and then La Fuente Church follows in the afternoon.
Ed Palpant, lead pastor of Evergreen Community church, said the arrangement frees up financial resources to be devoted to the churches' true mission.
"None of us believe the churches exist for themselves," Palpant said. "This is now going to free up a ton of resources to serve people in Raleigh, across the country, people in the world, to do what we exist for: to serve other people."
All three churches are of different denominations, but they share space to save money and pool resources.
A fourth start-up church will share in the building in January.
