Raleigh, N.C. — The 15-year-old son of a Raleigh man found dead in his home last week was brought back to North Carolina this week for questioning in the case.
Wake County sheriff’s investigators had been looking for David Ruben Green III to interview him in the homicide investigation of his father, David Ruben Green Jr., 52.
They located him Wednesday in St. Paul, Minn., and questioned him there before returning with him to Raleigh.
The younger Green is being held under a juvenile petition in an unrelated case, authorities said Friday.
Green’s mother, Wendy Edmond Green, 41, was arrested last Thursday and charged with first-degree murder in the case after investigators found David Green Jr.’s body in a freezer in the basement of the couple's Ray Road home.
Sources tell WRAL News that he had been decapitated so that he could fit in the freezer. A search warrant indicates the body might have been in the freezer since January.
The couple was never married, but they had two children – their son and a 17-year-old daughter, Alexis Green.
She is also being held in the Wake County jail on unrelated charges.
Sheriff Donnie Harrison said last week that investigators are interviewing everyone they can and that more arrests haven’t been ruled out.
