— A grandmother and her two young grandchildren died Monday afternoon in a house fire near Godwin, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said the fire started shortly before 5 p.m. at 8123 Fayetteville Road in Falcon. It was reported by a passerby who noticed smoke coming from the residence.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found Angela Cox, 40, Kayden Shambach, 3, and 20-month old Chase Shambach dead.

My heart goes out to the mother of these beautiful boys, and for the loss of her mother as well. So much sorrow for one young woman to deal with. Im so so sorry.

Horrible! May God continue to be with the family. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot remove.

OMG, this is so sad, I am praying for the daughter, I can't even begin to wonder how she feels.

I don't know there may not have been because there was so much noise but for someone to post something like that is a shame as if they aren't hurting bad enough and then someone had the nerve to post lesson learned.

@ditzytacy23. You are so correct in your comment. This report might have said that there were no smoke detectors, however, it is a pure shame that someone would post a comment in regards to Rodney & Jessica losing the lives of their precious children & her mother & to pretty much chalk it up as to "A LESSON LEARNED"??? That was disgusting! There is no lesson to learn here, only grief & heartache.
