— Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the disappearance of the daughter of Concord's police chief.

WBTV in Charlotte reported Friday that officers were searching around the Charlotte home of Valerie Grace Hamilton Friday morning.

The 23-year-old Queens College nursing student, who is the daughter of Concord Police Chief Merl Hamilton, was last seen at Thomas Street Tavern between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A manager at the bar said Hamilton's car was still in the parking lot after she disappeared and that her purse and ID were inside, WBTV reported.

Police said Hamilton was last seen with a light-skinned, clean-shaven, white man in his mid- to late 30s with short, dark hair. He was about 165 pounds and about 5 feet 10 inches tall and was last seen wearing jeans and a T-shirt.

Hamilton is about 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes. She has a tattoo of three stars across the back of her neck.

Police were asking anyone with information on Hamilton's whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Oh, now she's someone "important" so all the stops will be pulled out to find her.

Everyone should be considered this "important."

Still...praying she is found safe and sound.

    God bless.

Praying for a safe return, but leaving behind such items in your vehicle and the vehicle itself does not bode well at this point.

May she be delivered safely home, Lord.

She is not a kid, she is 23 and a nursing student, plus the chiefs daughter. Dont you think somewhere along the way she was taught to stay safe? Any woman can be led along by some smooth talking creep, but she should never have left with him. Perhaps with her fathers position she was of the mindset that "it will never happen to me". I pray she is found safe.

Teach your kids to be home at a decent hour. Then tell them about the danger of leaving the bar with a stranger at 1 pm. Dont forget to warm them about drinking alchol. Hope she is safe and if she is-- she needs to be tied up with a rope on a short leash.

"another reason to teach your children how to protect themselves and get a conceal carry permit. I hope she's ok."

Except anybody actually following the rules of CCP is not allowed to have their weapon inside a bar.
