One killed, one injured in shooting, attempted robbery
An attempted robbery in Durham Saturday night turned into a shooting that left one man dead and a second man injured, police said.

Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said that officers responding to calls about gunfire in the 2900 block of Chapel Hill Road around 10:20 p.m. found two men who had been shot.
One man died at the scene, and the second was transported to Duke University Hospital, she said. Their names haven't been released.
Michael said that shortly after, in the 2500 block of South Roxboro Street, officers stopped a red Toyota Rav4 that matched the description of a vehicle witnesses said was involved in the shooting.
One man in the vehicle ran and remains at large. Officers arrested Deandre Roosevelt Rucker, 18, of Nebo Street, and a 15-year-old.
Rucker was charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was placed in the Durham County jail without bond.
The 15-year-old was placed in the Durham County Youth Home.
In June, Rucker completed a six-month jail sentence for a probation revocation, according to state Department of Correction records. He was given probation in 2009 after being convicted of felony larceny over $1,000, breaking-and-entering, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.
DOC records state that while in prison, he racked up five infractions.
