FOUR OAKS, N.C. — Johnston County authorities over the weekend saw the list of suspicious fires in the county increase by two.

On Saturday, a barn on Cuddington Road burned. Just before midnight on Sunday, an abandoned home at 707 Yelverton Grove Road caught fire. Both instances are suspicious and are being investigated, said sheriff's office spokeswoman Tammy Amaon.

There have been 11 fires in barns and abandoned buildings since February, the sheriff's office said.

The Four Oaks area saw rashes of suspicious fires in March 2007 and April and July 2004. Authorities could not say if those might be linked to the recent fires.
