GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Attorneys have agreed on a jury for the trial of a former Marine charged with killing a pregnant colleague.

The jury of 12 consists of six white women, four white men, one black man and one black woman. They are set to hear opening arguments in the Marine Cpl. Cesar Laurean trial Thursday morning.

Attorneys did excuse a few potential jurors this week, including one woman who said her son was a gunshot victim. A man whose daughter was killed in the 1990s and whose case remains unsolved was excused though he said he could remain impartial.

Laurean is charged with killing 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach of Vandalia, Ohio, and burning her body in a firepit in the backyard of his home in December 2007. Laurean has pleaded not guilty.
