Goldsboro, N.C. — A Goldsboro man, who was arrested and charged with second-degree sexual offense Thursday, now faces federal charges for possession of a destructive device and a sawed off shotgun, police said.
Darrell Rodriguez Taylor, 29, of 1601 E. Holly St., was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at her home Thursday.
After further investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Taylor's residence. During the search, police found evidence of suspected explosive devices.
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and members of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Bomb Squad were called to the scene. Some nearby homes were evacuated.
Taylor was being held under a $250,000 bond in the Wayne County jail Thursday night. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
